ALF ERLING ERIKSEN Jr., age 78, of Molino FL and Hopatcong NJ, passed away on the morning of January 21, 2022 at his Florida home. A beloved husband to Elsie Theresa Eriksen, for what would be going on 50 years of marriage this May. He was a supportive & unwavering dad to Alf Eriksen III and his wife Jeanette Eriksen.
A loving grandfather and will be deeply missed by Justin, Kyle, Brandon, Marissa, & his great nephew Andrew. Alf was a supporting uncle & cornerstone for his niece Danielle Gallotto.
Alf was pre-deceased by his parents, Alf Erling Sr & Lillian Eriksen. Also by his in-laws Gasper John & Therese Ann Gallotto.
Alf lived his life to the march of his own beat. Alf & ET shared a lifetime of loving memories. He was always there for an ear, a wonderful laugh, great advice, a cheerleader for ones dreams, & a rock in hard times. He enjoyed music, photography, & model trains, which he glowed while including his grandkids in. Loved fishing both fresh & salt water with his son. He was a member of a few model train clubs along the coast; from Hoboken & Sussex NJ to Florida. He was also a member of Vasa Park, a community for Norwegian heritage & a long time member of the Byram Bay Community Club on Lake Hopatcong for 50 years. In his youth he was a member of the Coast Guard Axillary. He graduated from Rutgers & The Manhattan Medical School as a lab tech, his further education was halted to care for his mother.
Alf was a food connoisseur & loved meals with his family. Always ready for adventure or to jump in the car for an outing. He loved traveling and experiencing life.
He was active & devout in his christian church, Restored Church of God based in Wadsworth Ohio. He was a kind soul & friend; one of a kind and will deeply missed.
A message from his minister after Alfs death:
It is hard to imagine you without that big smiling face, laughing right next to you. Alf truly was bigger than life. Remember all we have been learning and read Isaiah 57:1. Alf is asleep waiting for THAT DAY. The next sound, sight, touch, and taste; Alf will know will be in the Kingdom of God.    Â
