Barbara Pastuszczak

Barbara Pastuszczak, age 85, of Garfield NJ, passed away on October 22, 2023. Beloved wife of Mieczyslaw Pastuszczak. Loving mother of Krystina Dickinson and her husband John and Ann Hahn and her husband Mike. Dear Babaci of Lucy and Andrew Dickinson and Evan Hahn. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Wisniewski, Jan Szydlowski and his wife Irena, Mila Karpiec and Wladyslawa Krupa as well as many other nieces, nephews and family members. 

Barbara was born in Sekowa, Poland and grew up on her family farm. She decided to join her sister in the United States. She arrived in August 1970 with just a suitcase to start her new life. She worked various jobs as a seamstress. She returned to Poland a few years later when she met and married her husband. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in January. They returned to the US and a few years later started a family. Despite not having a higher level of education, she always encouraged her children to study hard so that one day they could have a career where they didn’t have to work as hard as she did to support their family. Barbara was a faithful parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church, in Garfield NJ. She adored children. Her grandchildren gave her such joy and she loved taking care of them. She worked at Nabisco for 18 years where she made many great friends. After retiring from Nabisco, she loved to travel and took trips all around the world. Barbara loved to bake and had a big sense of humor. She loved to go out and share a drink and a laugh with the people she loved. She will be truly missed but will live on in our hearts and memories.

Funeral services from Kugler Community Home For Funerals, Saddle Brook NJ. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 5-8pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10am at St. Stan’s Church in Garfield. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook NJ.
