George Andrew Bocchino, age 99, of Lodi passed on Wednesday March 13, 2024. George was born in Passaic and lived in Clifton before moving to Lodi in 1960.
George was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II in the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. His service included War Battles and Campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. George was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945, and received several awards and commendations including the European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal.
After his return from military duty George settled in Clifton where he met and married his Wife, Marie. They were married on June 10, 1950, welcomed their daughter Joan in December 1953 and moved to Lodi in 1960. George was married to Marie for 28 years. Marie passed in January 1987. George worked as a Foreman for Bomont Industries in Totowa.
After his retirement from work, George liked to build model cars and travel the world.
George was a member of the Saddle Brook Seniors and enjoyed dancing.
George is survived by his loving daughter Joan Ramsey, and her husband David. George is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Scott, Tara, Lauren and Adam and 8 great-grandchildren, Hanna, Christopher, Charlotte, Arianna, Emma, Dante, Madison and Aiden.
Funeral services from Kugler Funeral Home 311 Fifth St. Saddle Brook. Visiting hours on Monday, March 18th from 4 to 8pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 19th at 11am at St. Philip the Apostle Church 492 Saddle River Road Saddle Brook. Burial immediately afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
