Pius Tawiah, born on September 16, 1984, in Sampa, Ghana, passed away peacefully at his home in Lodi, New Jersey, on October 18, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Robert Tawiah and Agartha Forgdour and was the cherished brother of eight siblings residing primarily in Ghana and Botswana. Pius leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of close friends who deeply mourn his loss.
Pius's passion for learning and personal growth led him on a remarkable educational journey. Pius served honorably in the U.S. military for six years, embodying resilience and a deep commitment to duty. He attended the University of Botswana, Essex County College, and furthered his studies at Baylor University's Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences, ultimately building a career in physical therapy. He found great fulfillment in helping others recover, heal, and improve their quality of life.
With a spirit as adventurous as it was compassionate, Pius loved exploring new places, embracing diverse cultures, and connecting with people from all walks of life. His zest for travel, commitment to fitness, and easygoing nature made him the life of any gathering. Pius’s warmth, laughter, and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family and friends, and the joy he brought into every room. Pius's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
