As we celebrate Rei’s life, we remember his birthday on June 7, 1990 in Barranquilla, Colombia, which was a day of celebration and joy. After a few months in Colombia, Reinaldo came to the United States with his parents where he was able to celebrate his 1st birthday surrounded by family and love. It is a day we will always remember because he was so full of joy and made all in attendance gleam with joy and laughter with his curiosity, personality, bouncing curls and a laugh larger than life.
Reinaldo was an amazing son who made his parents very proud. Rei’s accomplishments were always celebrated, as a constant overachiever, the celebrations were in abundance, from his good grades in elementary school, a good deed to a friend in need, a chore done without asking all the way through his Bachelor Degree from Rutgers Business school, graduating Cum Laude. He was very independent but never steered far away from his want and need to care for his mother and her well-being.
He was a great dad to his dog, Milo, a friend, and colleague. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a radiant smile, and a brilliant mind. He lived a life of guilt free passion in the constant pursuit of equality and love. As a self branded coffee connoisseur and social media guru, Reinaldo documented much of his life and shared the things he enjoyed most for all to see. In a recent post he stated “I’m not dwelling on my past year or focused on what’s to come in the next one. In this moment, I am happy with a full heart, and that’s all that matters.”
While Rei was able to enjoy his passions and lavish in the things he loved, what he worked towards the hardest and for the longest time was his career, which he was extremely proud of. Reinaldo was a Supply Chain Consulting Manager at Deloitte where he flourished in his career since 2015. He was passionate about his work and took pride in the results and solutions he was able to produce for his colleagues and clients.
Reinaldo was an avid gadget lover and enjoyed traveling. He was an incredible listener and was always ready to lend a shoulder to lean on. He was an animal lover, especially dogs, and was always eager to share stories of his beloved Corgi, Milo.
Reinaldo was a devoted son to his mother, Ivis Aguilar, and to his late father, Reynaldo Aguilar. He was a loving and supportive cousin, grandson, godfather and nephew to all who who were blessed enough to call him family, and a loyal and caring friend to all who knew him.
Reinaldo will be missed by all his uncles, aunts, cousins, goddaughter and extended family, all of whom were always proud of him. He leaves us to join his father, grandmother and grandfather who he loved deeply. Rei leaves a legacy that was built on his faith in God, grew with knowledge and established with core values instilled throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
