Richard Henry Stasion, age 78, of Saddle Brook passed on Monday, November 11, 2024. Richard was born in Jersey City and lived in Saddle Brook for 55 years.
Richard was a Sheriff’s Officer with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years retiring as a Lieutenant and was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
Richard was a military veteran serving with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received numerous commendations including the Army Commendation Award, Vietnam Campaign and Service Medals, National Defense Service Medal and was a Rifle Marksman. He was also a Jr. Vice Commander and Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3484 of Saddle Brook.
Richard was also a proud member of the First Reformed Church of Saddle Brook.
Richard was the husband of the late Audrey Ann Stasion (nee Wood) and is survived by his loving daughters Dawn Coleman and her husband Michael, Wendy Chinchar and her husband Daniel, and his 5 grandchildren Alexis Chinchar, Hailey Coleman, Brooke Chinchar, Madison Coleman and Olivia Coleman. He is also survived by his sister Lorraine Ryan and her husband Pierce, his brother Kenneth Stasion and other extended family members.
Funeral services from Kugler Funeral Home 311 5th Street Saddle Brook, NJ on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. Visiting hours from 10am with chapel prayer services to begin at 12 noon. Burial immediately afterwards in George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus.
